This is one of a series of paintings based on contemporary dance on which I have been working since the beginning of 2003
My paintings, oil on linen, explore the possibilities of colour, line, texture and composition. I am concerned with the tension between decorative qualities and the desire to offer non-literal interpretations of modern life. I have been particularly interested in the way women are represented, and Scotland and its culture.
